Californians - an apology

The previous post started with a representation of a telephone ringing which I originally put in triangular brackets. Blogger of course interpreted these as htm tags and fell over big style. In fact the whole west coast of America is probably in darkness as I speak. Sorry! I've changed them to dashes! And I won't do it again - promise!
